Chances are that you have a voicemail. A landline or a cellphone usually comes standard with the option for a personal greeting. Below are some original and humorous recordings of voice messages for your mobile or immobile phone. There are plenty of other funny ideas, but we’ve seen them or heard them before. For instance, the “Hello” and pause effect- the prank is more amusing for the listener because you don’t get to hear them throughout their confusion until after the beep. A rarer one was a philosophical answering machine that I found rather witty: If a telephone rings in an empty room and no one is there to answer it, was there really a phone call? Help me investigate this phenomenon by leaving your name and number after the tone. Other jokes and witty lines can be recorded for your callers that may bewilder a silence after the tone, or you might get to hear laughs that started before the beep, or you might throw someone off into the old routine of “What?…Hello?…Are you–Is this?…Am I leaving a message?” But you want fresh ideas. You can borrow mine to entertain your callers. Let me know their reactions. Here are [...]

I have found so much music for free that I can’t fit it all on my iPod. There is just too much out there. And the best thing about it is nobody gets in trouble for breaking the law if you have permission, although there are some organizations that want to restrict your musical freedom altogether (like making it illegal to even transfer CDs to your iPod). Although stealing music is fairly easy, it’s not as fun and fulfilling as having a legitimate library of tunes. By compiling an exhaustive list of legal alternatives, I hope it will suppress your desire to pirate music and be caught with the penalties. I personally think digital and music law needs reform, but we should be cautious of some of the illogical interpretations of the law so we don’t get into trouble. There are trillions of audio files roaming around the internet in a legal haze of lawsuits, and whether on purpose or not, I’m sure you’ve stumbled across them. I should note that doing things the legal way can be difficult or just a plain old hassle, but I have taken countless hours finding the top sources and also revealing the most [...]

Traveling back to the dawn of the new millienium, I’d like to show you a website that was around in 2000 by a practical jokester (similar to Andy Kaufman) who has gained in popularity more recently since the making (and expiration) of the website. It was at one point supergreg.com, but now all that remains are mirrors of the extinct site and two short video clips. Supergreg is a European/German? who knows how to spins some fresh beats. He sports a world-renowned unibrow. The man behind the character of Super Greg is also the person who plays Borat. The page I gave has a broken link to the second video but youtube has a copy of his scratchin’.

I wrote earlier about the death of Singingfish media search, an amazing resource of online music. Since then I’ve been seeking alternatives to singingfish.com and I’ve got 11 solutions that will help you find that free mp3 that got lost in the interweb. Starting in order from average to best (1 is average, 11 is best). I tested the searches using the technique I dub the “Paul Westerberg method” (the standard of not using today’s most well-known band, but not being too obscure either). Seekasong – Working mp3 links, but the database isn’t extensive. There is some things to find, but only if you aren’t picky about specific songs.
Ever since a young teenager, I’ve been involved in risky activities like extreme sports that can cause nasty injuries. I would go skateboarding all around the neighborhood, I’ve been snowboarding, and my all-time favorite was riding BMX bikes. I haven’t been as active as when I was younger, but my body still feels remnants of past crashes and major falls. I have yet to break a single bone, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t felt pain before. I can recall many instances of where I got hurt pretty bad: One day I was speeding on my bicycle what felt like 30 mph down a huge hill that declined for about half a mile. I pedaled as fast as I could, but there was a layer of loose dirt that caught my front wheel, and since I only had one hand on the handlebars, I was thrown off my bike tumbling for at least 15 feet. I had road rash and I felt numb. Another time I was riding around and I clumsily landed a trick, then landed flat on my tail bone on rough pavement. I’ve put myself through crashes that seemed like a tiny car accident, except without the [...]
