Underarm hair is disgusting for females, yet ladies are to tolerate it on men? Don’t get me wrong: I don’t shave my pits, I’m a straight guy, and I’m not really a feminist (in the sense of increasing rights of women only; I’m more of a nongenderist [a made up word] where gender has the least bearing possible on social life so men and women both have rights equally). I’m just curious why men would get grossed out that girls would have hair under their arm. It’s more common in Europe, but I’d like to hear opinions from all around the world.
And makeup too- why are women expected to put products on their face? It might imply that they are ugly without it. I’m not trying to argue that it is wrong to do so. Men are using makeup more often than they have in the past. Some women enjoy fancying themselves up. It’s fine if you do, but those who don’t usually get negative comments. The only reason I could come up with is that both makeup and shaving outwardly expresses hygiene and those who don’t do it are perceived as unclean. This doesn’t really hold up though, unless you are willing to say that 99% of men who don’t shave their armpits are dirty (including doctors, businessmen, millionaires, etc).

I think it just looks better. I’ve been raised surrounded by the norm and tend to like consistency. BTW, I’m from the US.

just because they have hair doesn’t mean they suppose to have it. hairy girls are as normal as hairless men.

Because we’ve been brainwashed. Women started shaving around the turn of the last century. Razor manufacturers had a product, and they wanted to widen the market. They started a campaign to convince women that bodily hair is unfeminine and it worked!!

That makes sense Yogi, there is power in advertising- more than most people are aware of.
