Tucson, Arizona doesn’t have enough stalkers. That’s why Pima Association of Governments and the City of Tucson have installed controllable web cameras for online scouting, tourism, or just a bird’s eye view of the city. There are four different cameras to choose from in the downtown area, where your viewing pleasure and most of the action will take place. Watch Live and you are in control of the camera. Zoom, verticle and horizontal control, enable light, and take pictures. Go to transview.org and select either North East, South East, North West, or South West cameras.

The controllable cameras would be cool. If they worked.

@Dave:
I think the site is getting too much traffic and their server can’t handle it. I tried to access their cam 5 minutes ago, but it hung when loading the java applet. I tried after a couple minutes and it is in working order. Just remember that others might be accessing the controls, but the timer will let you have a turn. Try a different time if the webcam is disconnecting, or just a different downtown camera. Unfortunately, I can’t do anything about it myself, but it does work the majority of the time.
